Special edition Street Photography with Helmut Smits
What if the city becomes your studio? During this special edition of the Street Photography workshop, you will work with artist Helmut Smits. Smits is known for his conceptual, direct and often humorous work. With small interventions, he shows how differently you can look at situations you might normally pass by.
In this workshop, you will explore public space with that way of looking. You will observe what is already there, choose a place or situation and add something to it. Then you will photograph what happens.
Helmut Smits introduces his work and way of looking. You will then start working on an individual assignment. You buy a product at the supermarket and place it in public space in such a way that it does something with its surroundings. You then photograph what happens. Afterwards, you discuss the results with the group and continue developing your idea.
This workshop is developed especially for photography students who want to experiment with street photography, conceptual thinking and interventions in public space.

Cameralisatie x Nederlands Fotomuseum Photowalk #1
Nederlands Fotomuseum Photowalks x Cameralisatie
Join us for a walk through Rotterdam with your analogue camera.
During this edition of the Nederlands Fotomuseum Photowalks, you will head out with an analogue camera. Guided by @eyeeyegreg, you will walk from Cameralisatie to the Nederlands Fotomuseum. Along the way, you will shoot a specially produced roll of film with 12 exposures. This photowalk is a collaboration between the Nederlands Fotomuseum and Cameralisatie.
During the walk, you will look at the city around you in a different way. You will notice people, places, details and moments you might normally pass by. The walk ends at the Nederlands Fotomuseum, where you can leave your film in the dropbox for development. Afterwards, you can visit the museum and see the exhibitions Good Food and Quickscan 3. You are also welcome to stay for lunch at ZES, at your own expense.
Bring your empty 35mm analogue camera. The walk is approximately 3 to 4 kilometres, so wear comfortable shoes and keep an eye on the weather.
