Your involvement helps us safeguard Dutch photographic heritage. So we can create inspiring exhibitions, introduce young people to photography and organize events.

The Nederlands Fotmuseum, National Museum of Photography, needs your help. Become a Friend, Fan, Ambassador or a Collection Council Member.

Interested in volunteering?

Our volunteers make a big difference in how visitors experience the museum. If you enjoy meeting people and have good communication skills, we encourage you to apply. As a volunteer, you will:
— Greet visitors
— Answer questions about the museum or exhibitions
— Help during special events and openings
We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. It’s a big plus if you are interested in photography or have experience working in a museum. If this appeals to you, send an email introducing yourself and tell us why you are interested. Send it to: info@nederlandsfotomuseum.nl

Honour someone with a named fund

By making a provision in your personal will, you can create a fund to honour the memory of a loved one or someone special. In close consultation with the Museum Director, you can determine the objective and name of the fund.

Here are two examples of existing named funds:

Anna Cornelis – Named Fund
The Anna Cornelis Fund Foundation and the National Photography Museum are working together to stimulate documentary photography in the Netherlands with a Named Fund.

Jan Bernard Gijsman – Named Fund
This fund supports the educational programs concerning photography and visual image culture for a broad audience. The fund’s focuses on visual literacy projects. This connects with our museum’s ambition to share photography with as many people as possible.

Make a donation

When you donate to the Nederlands Fotomuseun, every cent goes to improving the museum. There are no gift or inheritance taxes. That is because our museum is considered a cultural ANBI by the Belastingdienst, the Dutch tax authority.

Become a Collectors’ Council Member

The Collectors’ Council is a group of photography enthusiasts. They contribute funds and help determine which photographs will be acquired for the collection. As a Collectors’ Council Member, you can expect:

      • Inspiring photography sessions
      • Special glimpses into the museum
      • Introductions to our curators
      • Studio visits with photographers

Members pay an annual fee of €10,000. The Mondriaan Fund will match your contribution. Your contribution will be used for new acquisitions for the collection.
